While living atop the Cumberland Gap in Tennessee prior to moving to New York City, she implemented a workshop and one-on-one coaching called Take This Life and Live It! at the Appalachian Women’s Guild, a non-profit established in the state’s most distressed county to assist unskilled residents to become trained for the workplace. During this time, she was published in several periodicals including The University of Science and Philosophy’s quarterly magazine. She also presented at the International Forum for New Sciences, and did numerous radio interviews and hour-long programs interacting with callers.
In 2005, Shafer trained as a Life Empowerment Coach with International Professional Empowerment Coaching (iPEC). Additionally, she published I Don’t Want to be Your Guru, but I Have Something to Say (see Lulu.com for exceptional reviews), which was used by a non-profit in NYC to support those impacted by the events of September 11, as well as by a retired military officer who coaches those re-entering civilian life. Other books/e-books by Shafer include How to Have What You REALLY Want, Law of Attraction Alchemy: Turn Lead Thoughts into Gold, and Reinvent Yourself: Refuse to Settle for Less in Life and Business (the eCourse) – all available at www.lulu.com.
